DIY : Ethnic Kurti Dress

Hi Guys! Today I am sharing Cutting / Pattern of Kurti Dress. This is Super Easy & Looks Amazing. I made Casual Look with Rayon Fabric , you can use same Pattern just replace the fabric (Silk , Crepe , Brocade ) to get Party Wear Look. Below I have Shared Highlights to Quickly go through the Process of Cutting Kurti Dress. 


For Kurti Dress I have used 1 Mtr Plain Rayon Fabric and 2.5 Mtr Printed Rayon Fabric.            
    


This is the Measurement I have used, you can adjust it according to your requirement.                



I have Marked and Cut the Back Bodice. It's Regular Basic Bodice. 


After that I have Placed Back Bodice to Cut the Front, I have just left 0.25" Seam Allowance from Onfold Side as I need to cut it from the Center.


Now for Bottom I am making Half Circle Skirt, I have Folded the Fabric by Half in Length and the Width of this Fabric is 58" . Now I'll mark the Radius,


And As I have mentioned in the above Slide, Radius = Waist Round + Ease ( Keep Ease Amount equal in both Bodice and Skirt ) and divide it by 3.14 


Radius for my Measurement is 9.5", so keep the measuring tape on the top corner and mark 9.5" all around.


I am Adding 0.25" Seam Allowance on the Waist Round.


Now Length of Skirt = Full Length of Dress - Bodice Length and i.e. 37" for my Measurement.


So mark the length and add 1" of Seam Allowance as well.


So marking is done.


I have Cut the Half Circle Skirt.

    Please mam I like all your videos. But I want to learn to take perfect body measurement from you for all types of garments like Kurti, plazzo, chudidar etc. And also to learn what is the difference in drafting of back open neck and closed neck kurti

    I regularly follow ur videos..good job Ruby...I simply love them.esp the recent video u put on sewing collar...I dint know collar is this easy to do.and the new way of using thread method to make the collar pointed...loved it
