Sew With Ruby

Hi Guys! Today I am sharing Trendy Yoke Top, It's Super Easy and you can make lots of variations as well. Hope you'll like this Pattern & if you try it do share with me on Facebook or Instagram , I would Love to see your Creations.....So let's get started.

This is the measurement I am using you can adjust it according to your requirement.

For this Project I have take White Cotton Fabric (2 Mtr) . Firstly I'll cut the Back Bodice, I have cut out required length i.e. 26" including 1" of Seam Allowance.

For Shoulder take half of shoulder width i.e. 6.75" in my measurement.

Neck Width is 3" and for Armhole take half of Armhole Round.

Mark Vertical Measurements at 10.5" (Shoulder to Bust) , 14" (Shoulder to Waist ) , 21" (Shoulder to Hip) and extend these points.

Now Mark Round Measurements - Chest , Bust , Waist & Hip. Add Ease to Body Measurements & divide it by 4 and mark it on the fabric. Join these points with Curve Ruler.

Add 1" of Seam Allowance on the Side and draw Armhole Curve (You can make it Free hand or you can also use French Curve)

Now Cut the Back Bodice.

Now I'll Cut the Front. From the On fold side mark 8" inwards.

Taking that line as center place Back Bodice and trace the Pattern.

Mark Starting point of Yoke on the armhole and draw slant line to give Sweetheart shape.

Adding 0.25" for Seam Allowance.

Draw Straight Line in the 8" space (it's for Gathers) and cut the Front Bodice.

So I have separated the Sweetheart shape. Now redraw & Cut it on the other fabric including Seam Allowance all around.

So I have cut the Yoke & this is how it will look.

On the Yoke Part, my Sister has done this Beautiful Free Hand Fabric Painting, You can check out her YouTube Channel "Trims and Tassels" if you're interested in Fabric Painting,Block Printing,One Stroke Painting etc.

Now I'll add Gathers, Make a Basting Stitch starting from the Armhole.

I made a Basting Stitch, Now Adjust the Gathers on the Bodice to match the Yoke.

Both Pieces match Perfectly, now stitch them together.

So Front is ready. Sweetheart Gathered Yoke.

Now Stitch it just like regular Top, You can find detailed step by step instructions below in the Video.

Thank you so much Guys! Hope you'll like this Pattern & if you do Please share it with your Friends & Family and Stay connected on the Social Media for all the updates. Take Care & I'll see you soon!!!

Hi Guys! Today I am sharing Sewing of Kurti Dress, I have shared it's Cutting In Previous Post, you can also check out Cutting Video on our YouTube Channel , So let's Start with Sewing......

I am using Paper Fusing to Cut the Neckline, Fusing is on fold. Length is slightly more than Bodice.

So I made Round Shape Neckline, Neck Width is 3" and Facing Width is 1" which you can change as per your choice. I have extended that 1" till bottom and now cut it.

I have cut the Neckline. And I've cut it from the center as well, so I have cut Neckline in 2 pieces.

Here I have pasted paper fusing on the Printed Fabric. Just place the sticky side on the wrong side of fabric and iron it and keep the Iron temperature low to medium else it will burn out the fusing.

Cut out the Neckline shape leaving 0.25" of Seam Allowance.

Fold & Iron the Outer Edge Seam Allowance.

So, I have prepared both sides. Now I'll Attach with the Bodice. Place the Fusing on the Wrong side of Bodice and make a stitch on the Inner edge along with the Fusing and not on the Fusing.

So I made a stitch, now make small cuts and turn the fusing towards the Right side.

Now make a Stitch on the outer edge to secure it.

So I have attached Fusing on both sides, now to join both pieces I have taken a piece of plain fabric and I have over locked it all around. Place it underneath and make a stitch.

So, Front Neckline is ready.

For Back, I have cut Round Shape & I'll finish it using Bias Tape.

I have Finished Back Neckline & I have Stitched Shoulder Slope on both Sides, Also I made Side fitting seam on both sides. This is how it looks from the Front.

And this is Back Side.

So Bodice is Ready, now I'll Finish Bottom i.e. Half Circle Skirt.

Firstly finish the bottom round of the Skirt.

Just Double fold the fabric and make a stitch on the inner edge to secure it.

After finishing the bottom round of the skirt, stitch the side seam. And then make small cuts all around the Skirt Waist as it allows you to easily attach curved waist of skirt with the straight waist of Bodice.

Now take wrong side of skirt & insert right side of bodice into it.

Match the Center & Side seams and make a stitch all around.

Kurti Dress is ready & this is how it looks..........

Hope you'll like this pattern, I made Casual Dress, you can use the same pattern to make party wear outfit as well, just replace the fabric with Silk , Brocade etc...... You can also Watch Detailed Video with Step by Step Instructions on our YouTube Channel "Stalk My Closet"
